Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ (/cæs/ /ˈɪnɪ/ [happy] [painter]) is a subtropical Large Town located in the Rubivælǐ District of the Federation of Alveria.

The name Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ is derived from the Constructi language, as Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ was founded by Kuzkheh Trêyepí, who was culturaly Constructi.

Climate

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ has a yearly average temperature of 16°C (60°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 23°C (73°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 10°C (50°F). Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ receives an average of 215 cm/y (84 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ covers an area of nearly 6 km² (2 mi²), and an average elevation of 1634 m (5360 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ was founded durring the early 12th century in winter of the year 1046, by Kuzkheh Trêyepí. The establishment of Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ was built using the conventions of Constructi durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ is buildings are arranged arround a network of broad cobblestone streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. The town's boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the town's defences.

A look around Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ is like looking into a university’s plaza on the day before an exam. People rush about to-and-fro. Discarded scrolls and quills are dotted around town. In spite of many locals discussing academic topics, there’s little sign of any organized groups for any of that talk. Infact, the town seems disordered in general with everything scattered helter skelter about.

Civic Infrastructure

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ. Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ's natural decorations nor waterways.

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.

Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is short in Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ.

The Cockatrice near Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ are known to be quite timid.

Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves performance art to channel Augury energies of tier 1 via proclamations.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ was attacked by savage ogrekins living nearby. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ lost 204 people, 375 livestock, and 25 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 77, when members of Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ's militia enacted an operation to scout a specific location for information about a particular port. The operation was complicated by the army being put into a position where they could only choose between two terrible options. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in a stalemate for Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Wæm Xi-42d Ǐnǐ's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
